It's not uncommon to look up into the night sky and to witness a beautiful shooting star. One evening while in my backyard, I was thinking about my mother, who had recently passed away. It felt natural for me to speak to her and express how much I missed her and how loved she was, and still is.

I asked quietly that if she was up there in the heavens' , it would be so wonderful if she could send me a sign , and just at that moment a beautiful shooting star came out of nowhere and swept across the darkened skies.

I will never forget that incident. I want to believe that she sent that shooting star to let me know that she was in heaven and was doing fine. It certainly could have been a coincidence, but I'd like to believe in something greater, and at that moment I did.

What if it was truly a sign? I will never know, but to this day I feel that it was a perfect moment for that shooting star to appear.
